July 15th – Trail Care Work Party

We are excited to announce the upcoming Skagit Motorcycle Club (SMC) Work Party, in collaboration with the Department of Natural Resources (DNR), focusing on the Walker Valley Lower Singletrack. We would like to extend a warm invitation to you to join us for this important event.

The Walker Valley Lower Singletrack Work Party aims to address smaller brushing issues, as well as tackle larger water runoff and trail design fixes on the lower trails. Our goal is to gradually progress towards the higher trails throughout the year through these work parties, ensuring comprehensive coverage of the Walker Valley trail system.
Here are some key highlights of the event:
1. Project Focus: During this work party, we will be primarily focusing on the following trails:
– I-5: Brushing, Drainage, Trail Repair, and minor reworking of trail features, if feasible with the available manpower.
– Cavanaugh: Brushing, Drainage, Trail Repair.
– SMC: Brushing.
2. Equipment and Tools: While we will provide as many tools as possible, including shovels, picks, loppers, and 5-gallon buckets, however we would greatly appreciate it if you could bring any additional tools you may have. The DNR is expected to contribute multiple brush trimmers, enhancing our efficiency in the work.
3. Refreshments: To kickstart the day, coffee and donuts will be available. And after the event, we’ll celebrate our accomplishments with some well-deserved victory hotdogs!
4. Camaraderie and Trail Exploration: Following the work party, we encourage participants to join us for a ride, offering a fantastic opportunity to connect with fellow riders, explore new trails, and share the joy of motorcycling together.
